Trace3 attended our first international show of the season as we took part in CA World 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas April 21st – 24th. Go BIG. IT with Impact! was the theme at this year’s show. The annual four-day event brought together more than 5,000 customers and channel partners from around the world. And Trace3 sales and marketing was on hand to work the show and meet with the various members of the CA team.
With an international audience, we knew engaging potential customers (that mapped to our geography) would be tricky. So, we went BIG with a huge focus on the Outlier Award! We ran video from our fantastic Outlier event in January. And we loaded our space with collateral promoting the Outlier Award. We were in the heart of the convention center floor and had an opportunity to speak with people from all over the globe.
We hit a big wall with a group from Germany — since we couldn’t speak German and their English wasn’t much better. But they liked the Outlier video! And an executive from Argentina stopped by the booth and was very impressed that Jay Mohr entertained at our 2013 Outlier Event. Go Jay! Trace3 will continue to promote the Outlier Award throughout the year and found the opportunity to focus on the award at CA World 2013 a great opportunity.
Hats – off to Timothy Abbott who met with a great deal of associates at CA during the event on behalf of Trace3. Timothy had “wings” this week flying from Vegas to Denver to Phoenix and back to Vegas. Great job Timothy! Much appreciated by all.
During the show, CA ran a session very similar to our NTI session at the 2013 EBC. CA called the session LuminariesLive! Ten speakers had five minutes each to present on various IT topics from the general session main stage. Matt Clark with Qualcomm (one of our customers) presented on the ever changing landscape of the dynamic and evolving datacenter infrastructure. Matt’s preso was awesome! And the LuminariesLive! session confirmed with us that our NTI format is right on target!
Go BIG. IT with Impact!
CA is focusing on four technology trends in 2013 — DevOps, mobility, Software as a Service (SaaS) and Big Data analytics management — that will enable CA customers to deliver and orchestrate IT with greater impact on their business. CA recently hired a new leader in CEO Mike Gregoire. Mike has been on the job for four months. Gregoire challenged the audience to embrace disruptive technologies such as cloud, mobile, social and big data management analytics to transform business and drive competitive advantage. “IT’s value today is all about providing the innovation, speed, insight and security the business needs to gain a competitive advantage – using resources from both inside and outside your company,” said Gregoire.
